I’m being a bum and sitting in the recliner watching TV after work tonight.

Things have been going well since moving, Tom and I are getting settled in and I’m getting used to Raleigh. Work is going well, I’ve been in training at my new job for 4 days now, after 3 weeks we start taking calls. I’ve got to start getting more sleep though, lol. I’ve been staying up way too late watching Heroes with Tom.

I took this one yesterday with Tom’s camera while I was downtown. Can I just say how hard it is to take a picture of yourself while holding a heavy Canon DSLR in one hand while trying not to drop it?

and since I was busy unpacking and forgot to do it, I”ll also make this a Things I Love Tuesday post:

Number one… Moving to Raleigh! I can’t say enough how excited and happy I am to be here permanently with Tom. I’m finding new things I love about Raleigh every day and am looking forward to finding more.

Also: playing and winning the lottery ($4 woo!), exploring downtown Raleigh on my own, apple crumb cheesecake, meeting new people, seeing interesting artwork, rereading The Ordinary Princess (my favorite childhood book), getting myself un-lost after forgetting where I parked, when my pets make me laugh, and hopefully getting to see some of the Azalea Festival this weekend.

Took a quick break from packing earlier today and sat on my front porch to eat lunch and enjoy the sunshine.

I’ve been packing like crazy the last couple days, the movers are coming on Monday and I’ve still got a ton of stuff that needs to be boxed up.

I’m going to start bloging every day again for the month of April, I’d like to chronicle my move to Raleigh. So far I’m sick of packing, lol, but the moving pains should be over soon.

Tom and I got dressed up and went out for a date night last night at Tony’s Oyster Bar. We looked so good I made him take a picture of us, lol. We used the self timer on my camera so I figure it counts as a self portrait.

Tonight I was going through my pictures and saw a few I’d taken with friends over the years, so I thought I’d include them in my SPT post.

Today I didn’t get around to taking a self portrait so I decided to do a mini self portrait timeline, showing some of the ones I’ve taken over the last few years. The camera I’m holding in the older pictures was my first digital camera, a 3.0 megapixel canon.

It’s interesting to see how I’ve changed over the years, the first picture is probably from around 2002 and the last from about 2 weeks ago.

Went over to Jackie’s for a girl’s night in. We watched movies and gave ourselves pedicures.

Red toenail polish is always my favorite.

We watched Couples Retreat, it had some funny parts, overall an ok movie. It was fun getting together and hanging out with just girls, I hadn’t done that in a while.

Yay, I’m finally getting better at this! Here are some self portraits that don’t suck:

While I still won’t call myself a photographer, I think my photography skills are getting a little better. My house has terrible lighting unless it’s during the day and then the natural light is pretty nice, so I decided to take these during my lunch break.

So I caught a cold today, I’m not too happy about that. I’ve been taking vitamins till they’re coming out of my ears and blowing my nose all day. I had to put on extra makeup for these pics to cover the redness, ha ha.

Dad sent me another “care package” with this ceramic Hello Kitty coin bank, a black satin mantilla from spain, and some other goodies. The mantilla is like a shawl with fringe, this one has beautiful golden roses embroidered on it. It’s so pretty, I can’t wait to wear it.

I found a poncho I knit a few years ago in the back of my closet. I remember liking to knit this because it went so fast but the yarn is so soft it sheds like crazy. Which is why it was in the back of the closet.

As you can tell I kind of suck at self portraits but that’s why I need to keep working at it. I also have a hard time finding good lighting in my house, it drives me crazy. Oh well, I’m no photographer that’s for sure ha ha. Hopefully there will be some improvement with them over time as my self portrait skills improve.

Sitting in the lobby at work

Today was pretty rough at work, I had the meanest most difficult customers I’d had in a while.

I’ve been working in a call center for about 5 and half years now, I know how to calm people down and let the nasty comments roll right off my back. But a few times a year you get a REALLY bad one. Then your day just goes downhill from there.

I was so glad to clock out at the end of the day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
